Species Description:

Romneya coulteri, commonly known as Coulter's matilija poppy, is a perennial rhizomatous herb in the Papaveraceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Chaparral, and Coastal scrub, growing at elevations from 20 to 1200 meters. Romneya coulteri is ranked 4.2, Plants of Limited Distribution, A Watch List; Moderately threatened in California.
