Phlox muscoides, commonly known as squarestem phlox, is a perennial herb in the Polemoniaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Alpine boulder and rock field, Great Basin scrub, and Subalpine coniferous forest, growing at elevations from 1280 to 2700 meters. Phlox muscoides is ranked 2B.3, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Not very threatened in California.
