Federally listed as Threatened on 1998-10-14; Delisted due to Recovery on 2018-07-02. Known only from Hidden Lake in the San Jacinto Mtns. Only known occurrence is located in Mount San Jacinto State Park. See Brittonia 5:285 (1945) for original description.
