Species Description:
Carex buxbaumii, commonly known as Buxbaum's sedge, is a perennial rhizomatous herb in the Cyperaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Bogs and fens, Marshes and swamps, and Meadows and seeps (mesic), growing at elevations from 3 to 3300 meters. Carex buxbaumii is ranked 4.2, Plants of Limited Distribution, A Watch List; Moderately threatened in California.
