Penstemon pahutensis, commonly known as Pahute beardtongue, is a perennial herb in the Plantaginaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Great Basin scrub, and Pinyon and juniper woodland, growing at elevations from 1900 to 2300 meters. Penstemon pahutensis is ranked 2B.3, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Not very threatened in California.

Notes

Known in CA from only one occurrence in the Grapevine Mountains. Can be locally common. On Watch List in NV. See Aliso 7(3):351 (1971) for original description, and MadroƱo 52(3):207-8 (2005) for confirmation of occurrence in CA.
