Taxonomy:

Previously included at the species level as L. ravenii. Differentiated from var. ravenii in having elliptic to obovate-oblong ultimate leaf segments, leaves that are generally less than three times longer than wide, densely hirtellous, with rarely persistent leaf bases, and in being widespread across northern Great Basin and Owyhee Uplands.
