Species Description:
Lilium washingtonianum ssp. purpurascens, commonly known as purple-flowered Washington lily, is a perennial bulbiferous herb in the Liliaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Chaparral, Lower montane coniferous forest, and Upper montane coniferous forest, growing at elevations from 70 to 2750 meters. Lilium washingtonianum ssp. purpurascens is ranked 4.3, Plants of Limited Distribution, A Watch List; Not very threatened in California.
