Taxon Summary:

Elodium blandowii, commonly known as Blandow's bog moss, is a moss in the Helodiaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Meadows and seeps, and Subalpine coniferous forest, growing at elevations from 1862 to 2700 meters. Elodium blandowii is ranked 2B.2, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Moderately threatened in California.

Notes:
Threatened by grazing and trampling. Possibly threatened by hydrological alterations. Very distinctive due to abundant paraphyllia (minute leaf-like structures borne on the stems or branches among the leaves). See Bot. Taschenb. p. 332 (1807) for original description, and Krypt. Fl. Brandenburg 2:692 (1905) for revised nomenclature.
