Species Description:

Sidalcea covillei, commonly known as Owens Valley checkerbloom, is a perennial herb in the Malvaceae that is found only in California. It occurs within Chenopod scrub, and Meadows and seeps, growing at elevations from 1095 to 1415 meters. Sidalcea covillei is ranked 1B.1, Plants Rare, Threatened or Endangered in California and Elsewhere; Seriously threatened in California.
