Taxon Summary:

Carex idahoa, commonly known as Idaho sedge, is a perennial rhizomatous herb in the Cyperaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Meadows and seeps, and Subalpine coniferous forest, growing at elevations from 2850 to 3200 meters. Carex idahoa is ranked 2B.3, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Not very threatened in California.

Notes: Known in CA from only two occurrences near Station Pk. and Poison Creek in the White Mtns. Previously known in CA as C. parryana var. hallii. See Madroño 35(2):164 (1988) for first two CA reports (second erroneous; actually C. norvegica) and 37(1):65 (1990) for explanation of error.
