Trichocoronis wrightii var. wrightii, commonly known as Wright's trichocoronis, is a annual herb in the Asteraceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Marshes and swamps, Meadows and seeps, Riparian forest, and Vernal pools, growing at elevations from 5 to 435 meters. Trichocoronis wrightii var. wrightii is ranked 2B.1, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Seriously threatened in California.

Notes: Nearly extirpated in the Central Valley. Habitat lost to agriculture and urbanization. Confusion persists, but plant is probably native to CA. Rare in TX; perhaps more common in northern Mexico. Perhaps best treated as a full species distinct from TX plants.
