Species Description:

Sidalcea neomexicana, commonly known as salt spring checkerbloom, is a perennial herb in the Malvaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Chaparral, Coastal scrub, Lower montane coniferous forest, Mojavean desert scrub, and Playas, growing at elevations from 15 to 1530 meters. Sidalcea neomexicana is ranked 2B.2, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Moderately threatened in California.
