Boechera johnstonii, commonly known as Johnston's rockcress, is a perennial herb in the Brassicaceae that is found only in California. It occurs within Chaparral, and Lower montane coniferous forest, growing at elevations from 1350 to 2150 meters. Notes: Known only from the southern San Jacinto Mtns. Threatened by recreational and residential development in Garner Valley. Also threatened by grazing and trampling, and possibly threatened by vegetation/fuels management projects. Boechera hirshbergiae is treated as a synonym of this plant in TJM 2; see Harvard Papers in Botany 11(1):61-88 (2006) for relative taxonomic treatment.
