Species Description:

Scrophularia atrata, commonly known as black-flowered figwort, is a perennial herb in the Scrophulariaceae that is found only in California. It occurs within Chaparral, Closed-cone coniferous forest, Coastal dunes, Coastal scrub, and Riparian scrub, growing at elevations from 10 to 500 meters. Scrophularia atrata is ranked 1B.2, Plants Rare, Threatened or Endangered in California and Elsewhere; Moderately threatened in California.
