Solorina spongiosa, commonly known as fringed chocolate chip lichen, is a crustose lichen (terricolous) in the Peltigeraceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Meadows and seeps, and Subalpine coniferous forest (seeps), growing at elevations from 2895 to 2895 meters. Solorina spongiosa is ranked 2B.2, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Moderately threatened in California.
