Species Description:

Chaenactis suffrutescens, commonly known as Shasta chaenactis, is a perennial herb in the Asteraceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Lower montane coniferous forest, and Upper montane coniferous forest, growing at elevations from 750 to 2800 meters. Chaenactis suffrutescens is ranked 1B.3, Plants Rare, Threatened or Endangered in California and Elsewhere; Not very threatened in California.
