Species Description:

Potamogeton praelongus, commonly known as white-stemmed pondweed, is a perennial rhizomatous herb (aquatic) in the Potamogetonaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Marshes and swamps (lakes, and deep water), growing at elevations from 1800 to 3000 meters. Potamogeton praelongus is ranked 2B.3, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Not very threatened in California.
