Species Description:

Salvia funerea, commonly known as Death Valley sage, is a perennial evergreen shrub in the Lamiaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Mojavean desert scrub, growing at elevations from 0 to 1865 meters. Salvia funerea is ranked 4.3, Plants of Limited Distribution, A Watch List; Not very threatened in California.
