Species Description:
Agrostis humilis, commonly known as mountain bent grass, is a perennial herb in the Poaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Alpine boulder and rock field, Meadows and seeps, and Subalpine coniferous forest, growing at elevations from 2670 to 3200 meters. Agrostis humilis is ranked 2B.3, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Not very threatened in California.

Notes: To be expected elsewhere in CA; need field surveys. Threatened by foot traffic and vehicles. Possibly threatened by grazing and trampling. Similar to A. variabilis and intergrades with A. thurberiana. Different circumscription here than TJM 2, which includes A. thurberiana (a common taxon) as a synonym.
