Castela emoryi, commonly known as Emory's crucifixion-thorn, is a perennial deciduous shrub in the Simaroubaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Mojavean desert scrub, Playas, and Sonoran desert scrub, growing at elevations from 90 to 725 meters. Castela emoryi is ranked 2B.2, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Moderately threatened in California.
