Species Description:

Picea engelmannii, commonly known as Engelmann spruce, is a perennial evergreen tree in the Pinaceae that is found in California and elsewhere. It occurs within Upper montane coniferous forest, growing at elevations from 1065 to 2135 meters. Picea engelmannii is ranked 2B.2, Plants Rare, Threatened, or Endangered in California, But More Common Elsewhere; Moderately threatened in California.
